Terms of Service

Private beta terms. A full consumer Terms of Service will be published before public launch.

Beta status

BlackCurrent is currently in private beta. The software is under active development, may contain bugs, and features may change without notice. By participating you acknowledge that the service is provided as-is, without warranty, and that you accept the risks inherent in early-stage software interacting with your vehicle data.

Your Tesla account

You use BlackCurrent by authorising our application to read data from your Tesla account via Tesla's official Fleet API. You can revoke that authorisation at any time from your Tesla account, which immediately stops all data collection. We do not have and cannot obtain your Tesla password.

Your data

We handle your vehicle data according to our privacy page. Short version: encrypted at rest with your key, decrypted only in memory during your active session, never written to disk or logs in plaintext. You retain full ownership of your data. Closing your account deletes the encrypted blobs we hold for you.

Subscription and payment

Pricing is stated on our home page. Billing is processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your account settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for the current period unless required by law.

Acceptable use

Use the service for your own personal vehicle data. Don't attempt to reverse-engineer the platform, bypass security controls, or use automated tooling to scrape other users' data (you won't succeed — the architecture prevents it — but we're saying it anyway). Don't use the service in any way that violates Tesla's own terms.

Liability

BlackCurrent is a data-viewing and analytics tool. It does not control your vehicle during the MVP period. Any commands feature shipped in future releases will require explicit per-command confirmation. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on data shown in the app, nor for Tesla API outages that cause data gaps.

Changes to these terms

We will email beta users at least 14 days before any material change to these terms.
